My mom took this photo of my dad after they landed somewhere. In the 1950s, they were flying from South Africa, up Africa and across Asia to Australia without GPS and no radio. Anyway, no one spoke English. They were the only people to fly that distance in a single engine canvas plane. Magnificent adventurers. So proud of them. The opening line in my book is my dad’s motto “Live dangerously, carefully.”
